Greyhound signed copy giveaway ...

I'll be giving away three (3) signed copies of my book Greyhound as a thank you to the readers for having such strong sales numbers and for generating such an overwhelmingly positive response to the book in the last 90 days.

All you have to do is submit a photo (of your own -- not from the internet) of a Greyhound Bus, a Greyhound Bus Station or you in a Greyhound Bus Station, on a bus or next to a bus. Clear? That's it. Just a single photo.

WARNING:

Please be advised that I am aware of almost e...

Somedays we should just follow instructions ...

So you never knew love...
until you crossed the line of grace And you never felt wanted...
'til you'd someone slap your face
So you never felt alive... until you'd almost wasted away

That same question ...

I knew eventually, I would have to address this issue and it now seems like an appropriate time. With the release of my current novel ' Greyhound ', I've been getting a lot of emails from people I don't know writing and telling me how much they love the book, the story, the characters, how much it reminds them of their bus trip when they were younger and how much it takes them successfully back to the eighties and so on.
I didn't mean to write a 'period hegira', but I guess I did, and a lot of...

Greyhound Video ... The Hall & Oates angle ...

Many thanks to Chris Sithi for putting this together and working some serious long hours for what looks to be a relatively simple video but was not. As I stated before about these videos, I had a strong intent to produce six or seven of them on specific topics and of varying length. We'll see how that goes as summer is waning, school is approaching and other writing obligations seek to tear me asunder from these artful motivations. This maybe the last video for this book, but it's not...

Stephen King ... On Writing ...

* for the record, I originally posted this on Amazon in 2007.

When I first read On Writing back in 2000, I was living in my truck on Venice Beach. Those were vastly different times as opposed to where I am now, thankfully. I read the book with a very different mindset as well. Even then, I always knew that I would spend my life writing one way or another. If I ever made money from it -- then all the better, but I didn't see that happening and most days it's just a mirage in the desert. More...

U2 -- Rose Bowl ... I hope this isn't the end ...

... but with everything that's plagued these guys in the last year, it just might be. That would be sad, if so.

The problems with this release:

I've been a U2 fan for a very long time. Bono already thanked me directly during the Slane tour for giving them $500 during the span of their career. I've probably given more, and I hate to have to qualify myself before I write this review, as I hope people read it with a clear mind, but it's true.

I think the more time passes, the more people expect...

On AmazonEncore ...

>

Author Steffan Piper handles the question he gets asked the most: "Who do you know at Amazon?" and "Can you get my manuscript to them?" -- as well as discussing other facets of Amazon, writing, publishing and editing.

Greyhound is now available for sale.

During a nap ...

... I heard this song play from beginning to end. I woke up startled because I realized I was dreaming and not actually listening to music. Needless to say the radio wasn't on and only the birdies outside were penetrating the day. Felt worthy of an update.

Try a bloody bullet catch, mate ...

Imperial Bedrooms review

Bret must've been sitting around his apartment one night watching 'Batman Begins' eating PinkBerry with his collar popped and focusing on Christian Bale's line about 'sycophantic suck-ups' and thinking … hey … he's using my Patrick Bateman character in a completely different way … maybe I should do something similar. Thus we have Imperial Bedrooms. This 168 pages feels like a forced half-measure for somebody's contractual obligation more than a novel, or rather a...
