Keep editing and polishing until you're satisfied the book is as good as you can make it, then make sure you send it to the right publisher or have it edited before you send it for self publishing.(less)

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Very believable interaction between mother and daughter and the sudden arrival of her witch powers and a ghost who demands she solve they mystery of her death, add excitement and humour to the story.

An excellent who dunnit where two of the maids at Merisham Lodge are convinced the police have the wrong suspect for the murder of Lady Eveline Cartwright. They set out to find the true culprit, but are they right or wrong and will anyone believe two ...more

Another Lost Daughters of Atlantis book. Quite good, with a good imaginative story. Bit repetitive with the other books in lost daughter meets good or bad man. The rest is inevitable, but still reasonably good and easy to read.

This book is definitely a steampunk novel, and one where romance takes second place. Don't get me wrong, romance is definitely there but it doesn't dominate the story. Loved Aurelia's invention and she deserved to be recognised for it, even if the yo ...more

I enjoyed this book, very lighthearted and addresses many different aspects of being a teenager from a broken home who suddenly finds her dreams come true. The story is pretty fast pacing and of course there is romance in the air. Technical details a ...more

Taelstone is a magical/fantasy realm and the country, social structure and magical aspect completely enthralled me. Kep is usually a good slave, obedient and compliant. When the boy she secretly loves is sacrificed she rebels and is sentenced to work ...more
More of Sue's books…
“Sometimes we don't want to be tethered to yesterday. It's nicer to forget. Maybe the gaps in our memory are there for a reason, evolutionary perhaps, to give us the space to grow, to get away from childishness or childish things. Or maybe it's so we have the chance to invent, or at least include, some magic in our yesterdays, surely the consolation of getting older, of moving away from youth, is that we can shape our past to our fantasies. So, even if the present isn't going the way we want it, we can stand and remember our earlier selves as exciting and funny and daring”
Sue Perkins, Spectacles

“Frightfully pale and perpetually odd”
Sue Perkins

“However fruitless it may appear, there is a point to everything if you are sufficiently invested in the moment.”
