Midnight Angel Short Story Reissued!

Carly Icon

You never forget your first love …

High school sweethearts, Dylan North and Holly Evans believed their future together was a done deal. But right after graduation, Dylan took off, leaving nothing behind except a hastily written note and Holly's broken heart. Ten years later, Dr. Holly Evans has a great career and a fulfilling life. The last thing she needs is Dylan coming back and stirring up old feelings.

Now Dylan is a Hollywood superstar but one thing is missing – and that's Holly. Can he correct his past mistakes and win her back or does happily ever after only happen in the movies?

All Things Carly

Carly Icon

I've really enjoyed the posts lately that discuss books, where you guys find your books to read, author info., etc. As authors, we work so hard to get information to you, the reader, but with ever growing and changing social media (like now there is Google+) I'm afraid we can spread ourselves TOO thin. So asking you and following your lead helps us so much! :thankyou: So today I have a variety of things on my mind, starting with …

PREORDER – SERENDIPITY & DESTINY

My website has been updated with preorder links for both SERENDIPITY (9/11) and DESTINY (1/12) including links to eBook preorders as well.

EBOOKS – OLD THINGS NEW AGAIN!

So you're (hopefully) aware that SOLITARY MAN, THE RIGHT CHOICE, and PERFECT PARTNERS are all available in all eBook formats. You can find links on my website – click individual titles listed above for more info. and order links.

MIDNIGHT ANGEL – COMING ANY DAY in all eBOOK FORMATS! And now I'd like to introduce one more old book being made new again in eBook format! MIDNIGHT ANGEL – a short story you may have read in the STROKE OF MIDNIGHT collection way back in 2004. The idea for the book came to me after seeing the movie Win a Date with Tad Hamilton starring Josh Duhamel.

You never forget your first love …

Info on preorder links coming soon! Could be as soon as this weekend.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

After all our talk about Social Media, here is a list of places to find me on the web and get up to the minute information about new books, reviews, puppy and dog talk, etc.

Lipstick, Lipstick and more Lipstick!

Carly Icon

So we've established that I'm a makeup whore …. er … junkie. A makeup junkie. Always was, always have been since my mom took me to the Estee Lauder counter for my first makeover. I still remember the exact things I brought home, tubes and colors! Now that said, there are certain things I won't leave the house without wearing. NOT because I care if people see me or not but because it's how I FEEL ABOUT ME.

So what are my MUSTS?

1. Foundation, foundation, foundation. And it can be light – as long as it covers the flaws!

2. lip gloss – sheer, glossy, a lightish pink/peach

The amusing part of this is I have two daughters, fifteen and nineteen who also LOVE makeup. The irony? THEY HATE LIPSTICK! Their MUSTS? MASCARA. (I HATE mascara!).

Anyway. When I went on Tuesday to Berkley for a video shoot for Serendipity (more about that in another blog closer to release) – and Berkley brought in a hair and makeup artist who informed me (nicely) that my frosty lipstick I've been wearing for the last five years is dated (yes I knew this but I LOOOVE IT). I felt like the woman with the blue eye shadow from the 1950′s still wearing it now, getting an Oprah intervention! Except I already own most current colors of lipstick and gloss of certain product lines – Mac and Laura Mercier – and I KNOW what I choose to wear – Glo Minerals Gloss – color – Coconut – which I first got as a freebie at a birthday party as a favor – and now buy 5 at a time (for the bathroom, purse, office if my lips are chapped, etc. LOL!) is outdated.

And feeling good about yourself is way more important than what's "IN". But it stuck with me. So I have already purchased some new lip glosses to try … and we had an old credit card that I needed to "test" to see if it was still working. Just happened to "test" it online at Mac Cosmetics. And I will keep you posted.

So … what are your MUSTS as far as makeup goes? And "none" is an acceptable answer. Not to me, of course, but you must be true to yourself. LOL!

SUNDAY FUNNY:

My five-year old students are learning to read.

Yesterday one of them pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said,

"Look at this! It's a frickin' elephant!"

I took a deep breath, then asked…"What did you call it?"

"It's a frickin'elephant! It says so on the picture!"

And so it does…

" A f r i c a n Elephant "

Hooked on phonics! Ain't it wonderful?
