Judith Galblum Pex As I wrote in the epilogue of "Come, Stay, Celebrate," "I conceived this book in stages as we sat around with former volunteers and friends reminiscing and telling stories. Someone would inevitably say, 'We need a book.' For years I had many reasons to believe I wasn't the one to write it: I was too busy; I believed that the world didn't need more books; I hadn't spent as much time at the hostel as the volunteers; and I thought my English wasn't adequate after living so long in Israel. But slowly the idea began to germinate in my mind, and I couldn't escape it."
Judith Galblum Pex I get an idea in my head and then I think and dream about it a lot until I feel ready to write, and then I just go for it.
Judith Galblum Pex After writing three non-fiction books, I am thinking and dreaming about writing a novel.
Judith Galblum Pex I advise aspiring writers to read a lot especially the genre of book that you want to write, and to just write, even if it is writing daily in your journal
Judith Galblum Pex There are lots of good things about being a writer. Writing itself can be difficult, I find, but after I've typed out the words and read what I wrote, I find satisfaction in the creativity of it. Furthermore, to have a book published is an amazing experience and brings a lot of satisfaction. And the reactions I receive from readers is one of the best aspects - to know that I can positively influence people's lives and thoughts.
Judith Galblum Pex Just keep writing something
