Aw, I definitely appreciate hearing this! Thank you so much! I'm glad the books give you so much pleasure--that's really the best compliment possible!
I hope to have some Jesse stories out within the next few months. I've been working on several projects at once, and Jesse is one of these. I can't be specific about a release date except...maybe spring? I really did think I would have something out sooner than this, but life got in the way, as it tends to do.
It's so encouraging to know anyone is eager for more of Henry and Martin's world. As soon as I have a better idea of when I might be able to release Jesse's stories, I'll be sure to let readers know.

Knowing you want more makes my day! Thank you! I would love to write more about all the GQ characters. I have Henry and Martin's entire lives planned out, same for Tom. There will be a lot of changes not just in their lives, but in their society as a whole. As for Henry having to marry...I don't want to give too much away, but I think (hope?) readers will like the way I plan to handle it.
Again, thanks for your question, and thanks for reading :)

First, apologies for not responding sooner. I never got a notification about your question and I don't check very often. I'm sorry!
I have indeed considered doing a Book 1.5 that would cover the sorts of things you mention. I tell myself lots of stories about the slaves and their relationships and I'd love to write about Timothy's fatherly pride in Martin's skills and good judgment, or the filial affection Martin shares with Billy and Jerry. I think Martin's early days in the Blackwell house were fraught with anxieties about both his desirability and his actual preparedness for real-world service, which would be distressingly different from the training scenarios he'd excelled in at Ganymede. I'd love to write about it :)
The reason it hasn't been written yet is because it requires both money and time I don't currently have, but knowing that someone wants to read it moves it up the to-be-written list. I am currently working on a lot of different projects, most unrelated to Ganymede, but I'm writing stories about Henry's cousin Jesse and will hopefully get those out later this spring.
Thanks for reading Henry and Martin's story :)

I can only endorse the request. Behind all his competence and know-how, Martin is such a strong but fragile character. He must have been missing his friends and the reliable environment where he grew up (and where he excelled) and feeling anguished and insecure whilst trying to find his bearings in a new place. What a book that would be! More please :)

This answer contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[Well, this is a spoiler, I guess, but...I can't tell you that he gets a happy ending. I'm sorry :(
Although the version of slavery presented in the series differs in many ways from US historical slavery, and Henry is more owned than owner, I did want to make it clear that terrible slave owners would exist in their world. Most of Henry's classmates are decent people and treat their companions well, but I didn't want to write a book about any kind of slavery where I pretended nothing bad could ever happen to slaves. The fact is, they're at the mercy of their masters, just as historical slaves were.
I'm sorry I can't give you the answer you want. I hope you can enjoy the series anyway! Thank you for taking the time to ask :) (hide spoiler)]

Well, it's a little ridiculous, but I have over 20 stories outlined that take the characters decades into the future. These stories aren't going to be long books like the main four GQ books, but shorter stories/novellas. I am going to be working on other projects through the end of the year, but I hope to return to GQ in early 2016, probably with a trio of stories about Jesse Wilton, including a story about playing the voyeur game with Henry and Martin ;)
I'm glad you enjoyed the series! I loved writing it! Thank you for taking a moment to let me know.

Hi, Valerie :) Thank you! I'm glad you like them! I chose to use illustrations for a few reasons. First, there's no stock photography for the time period, really. Victorian and Regency, yes, but no Edwardian/Gilded Age. I also wanted to use specific scenes from the books for the cover images and it certainly wouldn't have been financially feasible to put together my own photo shoots. I also think an illustration gives the reader more leeway to imagine for themselves what the characters look like.
I chose my illustrator, littleulvar, because I fell in love with her style. She's very painterly, and sometimes her work is reminiscent of all those great pulp novel covers from the 1960s. Not that the 60s have anything to do with my books, but it's a great era of illustration! I've been really happy with the covers and anticipate working with ulvar for a long time.
I hope this answers your question. Thank you for asking!

Love the covers too, they have a special feeling to them. Also, for me, they were one of the reasons why I bought the first book in the series. Anyway

Hi, Chelsea :) I don't want to give too much away about the future for these characters, but I do have quite a few novella/short stories planned beyond Book 4, and even though I do anticipate some changes in their society, I like writing about the master/slave dynamic and will continue with that for the most part. I do have a LOT planned for Tom, and since he basically runs wild, there will be some slave/slave stuff for him.
I am not entirely sure anyone will want it, but I want to do a 3-part novella (it will actually be Book 1.5 in the timeline) that goes into some of the master/slave relationships in H&M's circle. It'll be Charles and Simon, Gordon and Julian, and Louis and Peter (and James). The Charles/Simon one is done and the others are outlined, and I'll hopefully finish by the end of the summer.
Wow. That was a long way to say master/slave :D Thank you for asking!

The four main books will be Henry and Martin's story. I am indeed planning to write about other characters (some you've already met, others who will be introduced in upcoming books) and anticipate those will be novellas or shorter stories. Because people liked getting Martin's point of view in A Superior Slave, I'm going to continue writing at least one Martin POV story to go along with each of the main books.
Book 2 (still untitled!) and a related Martin story will be out in December :)

: Thanks for answering; that sounds excellent. I'm glad to know we'll get more of their story as well as more of Martin's perspective. =)
