I had thought about the influence falsehood can have on individuals and on a society as a whole. It can be pervasive and it can destroy so much. As I thought about that I decided to frame it in my favorite genre of fiction.

A hard question to answer. When I write I have a larger idea I want to explore. Then I break it down into character and plot. But in large measure inspiration is something that comes from the muse. How do you explain that?

I have two books in the works. Breakout: Survival is the second in a three part series. The other book is without title and only in the beginning stages. Think Hemingway's "Across The River And Into The Trees" and you get some idea of where I am going.

Just write.
I dont have much use for those who talk about writing but do very little of it. Write.
Don't let the perfect get in the way of the good. Forget what writer's groups might say about your work. Find your own voice and you do that by writing.
Read. Read a lot. Read everything so that you know what is good. Don't imitate what you read but write what you like to read. Keep it authentic and tight and share it with the world. Then write some more.

I sit down and start to write.
There is no prescription to good writing but to write. Later you might edit. But I've never found that I could not write once I sat down and told myself to get to work. I think the attitude comes from my journalistic background.
When you have a deadline there is no such thing as writer's block, just a nervous effort to put words on paper in a coherent manner. Writing fiction merely adds the need to make the words interesting to the reader.
