The island of Talivia! My fictional island I created for my next series. The first book Shule, begins on one end of this tropical island where the land is full of lush green foliage and pristine white beaches - however an adventure into the center of the island is an entirely different story, Beset with an active volcano, treacherous river and creatures never before seen unearth an entirely different experience. It is a cool island!

Walk away. If I can't create it can't be forced. But I have learned to be ready to write when the creative juices flow. Then it is easy and the ideas just pour out of my head. I am also a dance choreographer and over forty-two years of teaching I would spend weeks listening to music while driving here and there and then in one or two days it would all come together and I could choreograph an entire dance recital.

I simply love to create stories and characters. My mind is constantly creating new scenarios - it's fun to bring them to life on paper and even more fun to hear that people like reading them!

Write and continue writing - and don't be afraid to put your writing out there. Don't stick it all in a filing cabinet - or now days in a computer - like I did. Writing doesn't benefit you or anyone else if what is written is not read.

Actually - I was in the 7th grade when President Kennedy was killed. As a young girl I was impressed by this magnetic couple and thought Jacqueline Kennedy seemed like a nice person. The whole assassination thing made me very sad so I wrote a story about what I thought it would be like to visit the Kennedy's at the White House. Later when I was in the 9th grade - my English teacher asked to read my story after some of my friends did a book report on it. It was actually with her encouragement that I kept writing. I just didn't do anything with my writing until now.

I actually dreamed a scene in this book in the early 80's. I got up jotted down my notes on an 11x17 sheet of type paper ( I know - ancient) and put it in my desk. Later it got filed along with a zillion other story ideas and I pulled it out in 2009 and started compiling the story.
