How do you get inspired to write?

Debbie Ihler Rasmussen Actually - I was in the 7th grade when President Kennedy was killed. As a young girl I was impressed by this magnetic couple and thought Jacqueline Kennedy seemed like a nice person. The whole assassination thing made me very sad so I wrote a story about what I thought it would be like to visit the Kennedy's at the White House. Later when I was in the 9th grade - my English teacher asked to read my story after some of my friends did a book report on it. It was actually with her encouragement that I kept writing. I just didn't do anything with my writing until now.
