Sorry, I just saw this, Kiran. That is how backed up I am with my Goodreads. To answer your question, I wanted to be a writer since my high school days. Then, and even in college, I usually always got A+ on my stories, which my teachers really enjoyed.

We taught Tae Kwon Do through a park district. At a time when other studios had trouble keeping their doors open we had waiting lists to get in our class. I could relate to the kids and learned 40 names before class started. My wife showed them that women could be good at it too. Our young son was so talented that they had him to look up to. Our class helper was old school and was invaluable to us.
In all the years we taught, only my wife and I ever got hurt in class. A woman who lacked control kicked my wife and fractured her ribs. When we went to the hospital, they thought I did it!

I am not sure of your question. Writing stories are fun work for me. I have imagination that I feel compelled to put on paper. I don't need to write. I want to.

That is a difficult question to answer because some day down the road I might mention the topic in a story due to a character's fault. Except for that, I would not want to write about sex crimes against children. My reason being, I would not want some sicko to get ideas.

Well, I won't say I am famous, but thank you anyway. No I don't regret being a writer. It is a hobby as well as a dream being fulfilled. Do you have a dream, Ice Cube? Pursue it, and never give up. When you give up on your dream, you slowly begin to die.

Well, I am still wondering what it would be like to be famous. As for writing, this was something I have wanted to do since about 1974, but it seems like something always got in the way, like getting married, having kids, joining the Reserves, teaching martial arts, and etc. Now that Ruth does it with me I am as happy as can be.

My favorite fictional couple is actually from a movie/TV series. Simon and Kaylee from the movie "Serenity" were awesome characters in an awesome movie. He was the brilliant young doctor who wanted to get to know the little mechanic on the space ship but he was always having to deal with and take care of his troubled little sister River.
My second choice is also from TV, Tom and Elizabeth Keen from "The Blacklist."

It just seems logical to continue the stories where the originals left off. The trick is developing interesting stories to follow. In our case it involves doing historical research or current events, depending on which story we are referring to.

The BEST thing about being a writer is working on something with my dear wife Ruth. I love her so much that working on a project with her is not work. THAT'S the best thing for me about being a writer!

Do a little bit everyday. If you make yourself sit down to write, even if it is for just a few lines, you might surprise yourself and write more. If you get stuck, fine, just walk away and feel good that you did at least something. As Bill Murray once said in the movie, "What about Bob?" take "Baby Steps". Don't worry, some crazy psychaitrist will not try to treat you with "Death Therapy".
And if you get stuck with writer's block, paint your toe nails if you are a girl and open the hood and stare at the engine while sipping a cold one if you are a guy and sooner or later the answer will come to you.

The way that I deal with writer's block is to forget about it. Unless you are sitting in an office typing away to meet a deadline, do something else. Most of us have other little jobs to do around the house (or sanitarium)even if we don't have a day job. I might do some dishes, go feed the animals, or just relax and work on a model ... airplane. (Not that kind!) Then while my mind is free the subconscious part of my brain must be at work because all in the sudden it will become clear to me what I need to do. Some of my best ideas go to me while scooping donkey dodo.
