Great question! I think I'd have to say that Hermione and Ron are my favorite from the Harry Potter series. As I was reading, I always thought that J.K. Rowling would take the easy road and have Harry and Hermione fall for each other, but when she turned the tables and had Ron step in, I felt that it fell in line perfectly with how people meet each other in real life. Most of the time, the "One" is not always who you expect, but who you need at that particular time. That, for me, is perfection.

Don't give up. The easiest thing to do is surrender to a story. In my humble experience, struggling through the hardest and most frustrating of stories usually results in the best works I've ever finished.

I have several stories in the works right now. It's actually a really exciting time for me! One work is untitled as of right now, but it is going to be a massive fantasy novel - my FIRST fantasy novel. The other novel is called "No Tears For Tomorrow" and it is a superhero/suspense novel, which is coming along really great. I also have several short stories in the works, including "The Last of the Wanderers" which is a 20 puzzle/20 section unlocking challenge at www.rtdonlon.com. Once it is completely unlocked, it will be available for download at NO COST at Barnes & Noble, iBooks, and Amazon.

I usually take a break--get some coffee, take a shower, mow the lawn...whatever it takes for me to clear my mind--that's what I do. It's difficult to sit in front of a computer screen for hours on end without wanting to tear your own eyeballs out, especially if a scene your writing is not as good as you want it to be, but I always tell myself that with a little time and a lot of editing, my writing will get to where it needs to be.

It came as a dream. One night, I woke up in a feverish sweat, breathing heavy, and trying to calm my pattering heart. I had this vision of me riding a motorbike into a smoking, overrun city. I felt so nervous I could barely breathe. This is what turned into the opening scene of the novel and, from there, the words just poured out onto the page.
