Hi Vicki! I am writing Brackett Vol. 3 as we speak, so hopefully later this year! Then the next Game Warden shouldn't be too long after that. Thanks for you interest!

I wouldn't say I've actually scared myself, but I did creep myself out with some of the things in my novel Sweetgum Ridge!

He died two years ago. So how is he calling me now?
Quentin Wallace
Hi Vicki! I'm so glad you enjoyed the first two books in the series! I don't have a release date for book three yet but it is on the way! You may want to check out The Game Warden of Black Swamp until then! It's a little more graphic than the Brackett series but loaded with action! Thank you for your interest!

Hi Reanna! I personally do take advantage of any time I can, but most of my writing is done at night, usually between 9pm and 11pm on weeknights. Of course, if I feel the need to get something down ASAP or I get really inspired I'll write anytime.
Quentin Wallace
No Stephanie, sorry. It's a horror novel. I apologize for any confusion.

Hi Susan!
I do have a sequel to The Game Warden of Black Swamp planned. I'm currently working on a stand alone horror novel, then I'll move onto the Black Swamp sequel. That will probably be released early next year.
Now, for better news, I just released a new book TODAY, Tales from the Dark Distance. It's a short story collection that includes a Black Swamp novella! This novella will serve as a prequel to the next Game Warden novel, so it is important to the series. Please check it out if you are looking for a Black Swamp fix until the next volume comes out.

The Black Swamp is just going to keep getting creepier, I hope you stick around for the ride!

Hi Richard! Personally, I don't think monsters should be sexy at all, but to answer your question, I think it's because a vampire appears human, whereas a werewolf in wolf form appears to be an animal. But you are right in the sense vampires have always been the "seductive" monsters and werewolves are usually portrayed as beasts. I assume it's mostly due to their physical forms.

Hi Jason! Right now I would have to say I'm most proud of Brackett Hollister: The Werewolf Pack mainly because it's my first novel, and also because it's been very well received. Thanks for your interest!
Werner
Quentin, that's great news! (The Goodreads record still only lists the Kindle edition.) I'm going to add this to my to-read shelf right away.

Hi Donna, nice to meet you! I think it was just the fact that I loved the old Clint Eastwood westerns combined with the fact I'm a huge horror fan. It just seemed natural to me to meld the genres and come up with something (hopefully) that combines the best of the two. Plus there was an old western comic, Jonah Hex, that I read as a child that also lead to my love for the genre. I hope you enjoy my work and look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Thanks for accepting, and thanks for checking out my books, I hope you see something you like!

I'm sure I will. I got into horror when I was a teenager. I like a wide variety of books. First stop will be your werewolf book. I was a big fan of the Trueblood series as there was a good mix if supes, but got a bit fed up by book 8 as there was not much of storyline by then. I will let you know how I get on. Have a nice weekend.

Hi Evan! Actually, I have long term plans to explore several different genres. I plan to eventually write a straight ahead western, without monsters. Also some type of fantasy story, probably more Conan than Lord of the Rings. I would like to write some science fiction, but I am not a heavy science guy so I find that a bit daunting. I'd love to write an adventure story, maybe something similar to Kipling or E. R. Burroughs. A crime novel would be interesting. I think it would also be nice to write something literary, like a great american novel. I actually have some unpublished stories that fit into the various genres I have mentioned, I just really love to explore different genres. As far as combination of genres, that I'm not as sure of, but I also don't believe in limiting my writing in regards to genre, so who knows that genres I may mash up next! Thank you for your question, I hope my rambling helped answer it.
Quentin Wallace
Thanks for betting back to me, and yes I did notice you write similar books. Good luck with your new novel!

Most gory and disturbing work? Well, that would be my autobiography which I haven't finished yet lol. Kidding.
If you are familiar with Kindle Worlds I would say try either of the Silo Saga stories or maybe the Shadowman Darque Chocolate story. Otherwise, the Brackett Hollister novel, while not terribly gory or disturbing, is still quite a ride! I think you would enjoy any of those!

I agree, Trever! And hope you enjoy the book, I'd love a review when you're done!

HI Alicia! I have a lot of favorite authors so I'll just name a few: Stephen King, Jonathan Maberry, Dean Koontz, HP Lovecraft, I could go on and on but as you can see it's mostly horror. I find my personal writing style hard to describe but I will admit I write fast paced stories and I would rather have my stories flow well rather than be ultra detailed. I find inspiration everywhere, from other books I've read and movies I've seen to things I see on the news or real life stories I hear from other people. You'd be surprised how an offhand comment someone makes can actually be turned into a great story or novel! Thanks so much for checking out my work and feel free to ask questions!

I looked at the writing marketplace and saw an idea that didn't seem to have been explored yet, so I decided to try to explore it myself.
Quentin Wallace
Many different ways. It can be anything from reading another writer's work to an experience that happened to me during the day. Reading other author's success stories also helps. Inspiration can come in several forms, and even a negative experience can sometimes lead to positive inspiration.
