David Simon 1. A Christian Passover in the Jewish Tradition: I grew up in a Jewish home, and have led Passover Seders for groups for years. I put down the Seder I lead for those not familiar with the ceremony. It was too short, so I added an explanation for everything in the second part of the book, and then recipes. My daughters like to have fun Seders, so I added a section of games to play at the Seder. A very fun book.

2. Spring: Connecting with God. When I put together my first Seder, I did a lot of research. The Passover Seder did not come about in a vacuum. I drew the ideas together, and wrote across history how the idea developed from the Garden of Eden, to Melchezedek, to current times. There are a lot of spiritual lessons in the book. I put down a history, then when I taught the book for the first time, I learned there is a lot more.

3. Advent Journeys - not yet published. Through the Advent Season I have daily devotions with my family. I have shared this process with others. When I tried to put it in book form, it was too short. Advent Journeys was written first as a filler, but as I shared the ideas with others, and saw how they received it, I decided it could be a book on its own.

4. Winter - Actually also Fall and Summer, but those will come later. These are lessons from other Jewish Holidays. Winter, I hope is out by Winter. Need to get to writing!
David Simon I have worked a long time in ministry, and as an educator, taught many lessons. My wife told me to put one of my projects in writing, and the result was two books. First - Spring: Connecting with God; then the book my wife told me to write - A Christian Passover in the Jewish Tradition.
For me to write is amazing, I had dyslexia, and did very poorly in English. I still mix up letters, and my grammar is poor; but I have family members who help; especially my youngest daughter who is great with English (and graphics, see hre website http://www.sjsimon.com/ .
Once I began writing, ideas came to mind. I have a catalog of at least 15 books to keep me busy ... I am working on them one at a time.
David Simon Currently I am working on a Christmas Devotional, Hopefully it will be finished by summer and into proofreading.
David Simon Start. I have told this to many people who have not taken it seriously. It does not matter where, just start. An idea ... jot it down. Pieces of books, start recording them on your computer, you can assemble them in order later. Just start.
David Simon The best thing about being a writer is it gives me opportunities to interact with other people. My books open doors for discussions. I enjoy talking to people.
David Simon I have several projects going at one time. This can be a book (I have three I want to finish by the end of the year), a major project which will be out in four years, and I do research on this (rather than write), or I can blog. I can also take a day off to work in the garden, and get my mind back.
