I'm not sure how to phrase this accurately. Having lived an acting life and being in the movie world, and now noveling as well as screenplay writing, are the wells of creativity you toss your bucket down the same? (You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get even that logical.)

Judd Trichter I think I understand what you're asking. I suppose I see myself as someone with two creative buckets. For the first half of my life, I focused on the acting bucket. I switched over to the writing one for a variety of reasons. The well is the same, but perhaps the acting bucket had too many holes in it: not enough water was coming up...

What would you consider your biggest reading/writing influences?

Judd Trichter Thank you so much for asking a question, Selena. I wish I had a simple answer. I feel as if everything I read, listen to, and watch influences me. For authors, Kafka, Shakespeare, James Joyce, Cormac McCarthy, Melville, Conrad, Kurt Vonnegut, William Faulkner, and George Orwell all have had an impact on me. I've also been influenced by Homer, Vergil, Dante, Ovid, the Bhagavad-Gita, and the Bible. And then there are the stylists I love, such as Bukowski, Hunter Thompson, James Crumley, Don Delillo, Philip Roth, and Charles Willeford. I hope that's a satisfactory answer!

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Judd Trichter For me, writer's block is usually a case of having too many ideas at once rather than no ideas. I take a break. I tend to other aspects of my life - my health, my friends, my family. I'll go to a museum or the beach. I just need to chill out and then come back to my desk when I'm calm.
