I have many projects going at once, if one is giving me a hard time, then I edit or rewrite another, I work on something else creative, in my case playing guitar, or making chain mail jewlery. I find that the shift from one from of artistic expression can help me. Then when I get that burst of creativity, I get on it.
Sometimes, however, you just have to accept the fact that you are not always going to be brilliant, or clever and just get the story put on to paper. Then with the pressure off, work on being brilliant, creative and cleaver in rewrite.

Finishing the first draft. It is like an act of magic. People, worlds and things that never existed before now do, in a way it is like letting all those miraculous things that have been bottled up inside you out so that they can have a life of their own. Let the magic fill your soul because soon you will have to start the editing and rewrites.

The answer to this one is both easy and often misunderstood. I used to hear it and think I was being given a pat answer, to brush me off. Ready. My advice is to write and finish something, don't care about how good or bad it is. Trust me, it will be bad, accept it and expect to make it better in re-write. Yes, you will have to rewrite, many, many times. You will have to get advice and criticism, then rewrite again. And remember you are a writer, not because other people tell you are, but simply because that is what you do, you write, it is part of who you are. Accept that part of yourself and let yourself be a writer.

My wife was making me watch the birds for the umpteenth time and I thought how much more interesting the story would be if the birds were archeopteryx.
