Dave Robertson I would probably go to the world created by Alan Campbell for his "Scar Night" series. He does an amazing job of creating a unique, very fleshed-out world including zeppelins, a city hanging by chains, angels, assassins, and so on. I would explore the place and try not to get killed - it's a pretty brutal place!
Dave Robertson I get inspired to write because I love to do it. I love sitting down and finding out where a story goes and what characters do. Sometimes even I don't know what's going to happen until I'm in the process. That's fun, when a story takes on a life of its own, when I can't wait to sit down and write because I'm eager to see what happens next.
Dave Robertson The first chapter was going to be a short story. Before I finished that, the second chapter started to form in my head. Once I stumbled on the structure - each chapter is basically its own adventure - I saw all sorts of possibilities. Exotic locales, unusual characters, strange adventures. Ideas just started to flow and all I had to do was organize them, polish them up, get them on paper.
