I don't really have a good answer for this because I really don't deal with writers block. I never seem to be out of ideas and the stories usually flow when I am writing. But the thing that I do struggle with is taking advantage of all the time that I could be writing. I find myself easily distracted. So that is my biggest struggle, pushing everything else to the side and dedicating the time to writing. And the only answer that I have for that is to make a decision to write and stick with it, no matter how bad you think it is.

Having the ultimate power to create words that are unique. And then having control of who lives there, what happens to them and how they will respond. That's the thing that I enjoy the most.

Do not be to critical of your first draft. Nothing and I mean nothing is perfect. If you try and make the first run perfect, you will never finish. Relax and enjoy the process. There will be plenty of time to clean it up later.

I am currently working on, "Timber Ridge: The Affliction." Its a story about a small mountain town detective and a serial killer that wants nothing more than to torment the detective. As more and more young women die, the detective starts to wonder if he will ever catch the freak. But that is just the beginning. It's an entirely different game when the serial killer announces that he is going to take the detectives girlfriend for his own. Will the detective be able to save the day, or will he lose his mind as he tries to stop the unstoppable?

For me, it feels like the stories take a life of their own and will not allow me to keep them silent. They ideas and characters need their freedom and they get that through my typing as fast as I can, doing my best to keep up with them as I follow along.

I wish that I had a better answer than this, like experiencing something that pushed me in this direction. But to be honest, it came to me piece by piece. But the ending was the first thing that I thought of and what inspired me to write the story.
