Wow, sorry I missed this until now. I suppose it's to look for the magic in all things. We all have different books or properties we're passionate about. When a student is passionate about something, it's good to look for the essence that's really drawing them in. Sometimes they can't define it, but if you can help them pinpoint the allure of a work, that's something they can harness, and you can too!

Well, I was a newspaper reporter for a while. A few things from the crime beat could probably serve as mystery material. I guess the potential of the mundane turning to the terrifying would be where I might take things. Funeral homes used to call in late obituaries when I worked the night shift. What if I picked up the phone, and someone said: "I have an obituary to call in." Then proceeded to read my name, age, address? A warning? A prophecy? What happens next?
