Prashant V. Shrivastava I never push my brain to produce poetry. Neither the brain is a factory nor the poetry is a product. I believe that you do not write poetry, rather, the poetry chooses you. And what kind of and how good poetry will come to you depends on how much you respect this amazing art.

There are times when I do not write anything for days and then sometimes, I end up writing multiple poems or songs in just one hour.
Prashant V. Shrivastava Writing is a creative job and when you create something out of nothing, you feel powerful, blessed, and satisfied. Writing allows you to jot down your dream on a canvas and then share with the world. Writing needs no resources and you can start with a pen and paper. I use the Notes app on my phone to write all poems. Once finalized, I copy the same to my blogs and social media. It's easy and it never goes out of fashion.
Prashant V. Shrivastava Writing is a beautiful talent and if you possess it, craft it carefully. Instead of following the popular ideas and genres, go with what you are best at. My first book Life's Like That was a fiction novel but later I realized that poetry is something that's my strength. I still would love to write scripts and stories, but when free, I would write lyrics and poems. Do what you are best at and then the rest will follow.
Prashant V. Shrivastava I post small poetry on YourQuote.in and Instagram.com/pecificcreation every third or fourth day. Some of them groom to become full songs and then I add them to the new book's draft for the future.

Besides, I write short stories, blogs, and editorials. My next book should be another poetry anthology.
Prashant V. Shrivastava The poet inside me keeps looking for new ideas and concepts to write about. From the sun or moon to nail of my finger, I see everything from a poetic point of view. I also try and rewrite lyrics for the songs that I like the most. My book Jo Tum Kaho has a number of such lyrics, which you can sing along with the tunes of the original song.
Prashant V. Shrivastava I would always share the web address of my website http://shayarana.com to my friends who wanted to read my poetry. Lately, I realized that if I can give them a book, they will not only like to place one in their bookshelves, they will also read, at least a few out of many.

In the recent past, coincidentally, I came across many poetry books and this inspired me to have one for me as well. I resolved to pick the best 100 from my collections and get a book printed. It turned out to be 'Jo Tum Kaho'.
