Ria Warrick I honestly don't know. I think a lot of it is just ideas that pop into my head as I'm hanging out with friends or family. I can take a walk with the autumn leaves falling all around me and that can become a setting for a scene in one of my novels, or sitting on a beach or hiking in the forest.

I also try to include a real historical fact into most of my books as well. With God Save The Pirate, it was the Denmark Vessey incident that took place July of 1822. With Forced Hearts, it was the Massacre of Glen Coe that occurred in Scotland in 1692. It just makes it more interesting to write about and I hope that it will encourage some people to look up the incidents to learn about them.
Ria Warrick I think one of the best things is being able to get my frustrations out in a very creative way. If I'm angry at someone then I can kill them off in a hundred different ways and they will never have to even know. If it's someone I really can't stand, then I can make them a villain in a novel. After all, the villains always lose!

On the other side, if I want to convey a wonderful or thoughtful thing a friend did for me, I can write that into one of my books. I have some of my characters based on people who have been special to me over the years. I would like my readers to get to know them as I have.
Ria Warrick I write more than one story at a time so if I'm having trouble with one book, I can continue on one of my others until the ideas start flowing again. I'm currently working on 5 of them right now!
Ria Warrick Don't give up. Stick with what you know and what you're interested in. If you like reading sci-fi, then write sci-fi, or if you like children's stories, then write those. Your passion will come through in your words, so it's important to care about your story.

And don't let anyone knock you down. Dickens got 800 rejection letters before he received a yes!
Ria Warrick Currently I'm working on 5 new books. Two of them are Historical Christian Romances, another one is a Young Adult Science Fiction, another one is a Historical Christian Fiction and the last is my autobiography.

My latest novel, Forced Hearts, was just published this last week.
Ria Warrick My most recent book is called Forced Hearts. It was inspired by my oldest daughters as we as an incident that took place in Scotland a few hundred years ago that still affects the people there today. I thought the history and the prejudices surrounding the parties involved would translate into a good story.
