My Crazy Heart (a veiled reference to Sappho, yet another woman dismissed and denied her due) is a snapshot of a woman (me at 58) dealing with the death of her husband (32 yrs) and loss, loss, loss. Writing brought me back to some sanity. But I also needed a way, some sort of process to survive heart-killing anger at what I perceived as an extreme personal injustice to my husband and our family.
