(view spoiler)[I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I have no plans for another novel (or novella) with Lara & Aren as protagonists. Readers will get to see how their lives progress after the events of The Traitor Queen in book 4 of the series through Keris & Zarrah's eyes. But I will probably write a few bonus chapters from Lara & Aren's point of view because I think readers would like that! (hide spoiler)]

Unfortunately I don't yet. Like many people, I've spent the past year juggling work and reduced childcare, which sadly has put me behind on this project. But I hope I'll be able to provide an update soon.

(view spoiler)[I have just finished Dark Shores and I loved it but I was wondering, did Quintus’s and Miki survive? I loved them both and I am worried about them! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Their fate will be revealed in Gilded Serpent (book 3)! But if you need more of them while you wait, you should check out the prequel, Tarnished Empire! (hide spoiler)]

The Dark Shores series is upper YA. I'd say it fits somewhere between Stolen Songbird and The Bridge Kingdom. Hope that helps!

You can read either first!

(view spoiler)[Hi! I finished The bridge kingdom and The Traitor Queen a couple of weeks ago. LOVE THEM. Thanks, good books have helped me through this year. I know you already said that the next 2 books won´t follow Aren and Lara, but is there a chance of a "side story" of them? While fabulous I felt like something was missing... We hadn´t a chapter at list of they FINALLY together. Thanks again! Love your books! (hide spoiler)]

You are 100% right—there is something missing! And that's because I'm not done with Lara & Aren. While book 3&4 are told from Keris and Zarrah's points of view (and hopefully 5&6 from Ahnna and a certain prince's point of view!), Lara and Aren remain critical secondary characters.
The events of book 3 do run on a parallel timeline to TTQ, but in book 4, the timeline presses forward and you'll see how Lara & Aren's relationship develops, as well as the challenges Ithicana faces. You'll also see how Lara deals with what is now a very conflicted relationship with her brother, as well as how Aren and his sister's relationship progresses as she departs for Harendell (that's a big plot point in Ahnna's books).
I DO recognize that readers want some of that content from Lara & Aren's points of view, so when we get there, I'll likely do extra chapters narrated by them that you can read in conjunction with the novels themselves! If you want to ensure you don't miss this extra content, make sure you're subscribed to my newsletter or follow me on Instagram! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Thank you so much! There will be no more books where Lara and Aren are the protagonists. BUT they will be secondary characters throughout the rest of the series, so readers will get to see how their lives progress together. That's the reason TTQ has no epilogue—it would spoil readers for what is to come! (hide spoiler)]

Yes! There are two hardcover editions for both books. You can purchase the BaeCrate exclusive editions (https://baecrate.com/pages/the-bridge...) or else there will be a regular hardcover edition like there is for The Bridge Kingdom (preorder for that will be up in July).
Danielle L. Jensen
There will be at least four. The first two follow Lara & Aren and the second two follow Keris & Zarrah (characters you meet in The Traitor Queen).
Unfortunately, my release dates are determined by my contract with Audible Originals, so releasing early isn't an option.

These really are terrible times for everyone! Unfortunately while I'd love to brighten the days of my print/ebook readers, I'm contractually bound to keep TTQ exclusive to audio for 6 months, so the release date must remain September 1.

Lara and Aren's story will be two books, but I hope to have the opportunity to write about more of the characters in this world in the future!

Hi! First of all, thank you so much for talking up Dark Shores to your students – I really appreciate it! While I do get a small number of advance copies for giveaways, Tor Teen handles the distribution of arcs to reviewers, librarians, booksellers, and educators, so they are who you should contact to get one. But potentially the better option is to ask your school librarian if they can either get an advance copy or order a finished copy.
I hope your students enjoy it once they have a chance to read it!

Unfortunately it's not very likely at this point :(

Thank you so much!! Nothing makes me happier than hearing a reader has connected with one of my novels! The print/ebook edition of The Bridge Kingdom is planned for in the summer of 2019, and the sequel is planned to be released on Audible in the fall of 2019!

The physical and ebook editions will be published in 2019 :) When I have specific dates, I'll share!

The Bridge Kingdom will be released exclusively in audio with print/ebook editions to follow in 2019. I'll let everyone know those dates when I have them :)
Danielle L. Jensen
There is something a bit unique about how this series is structured, which I can't talk about yet. But yes, the series does follow the point of view characters through multiple books :) I'll share more when I can!
