Aurelia B. Rowl Hi Michelle, and thank you for the fantastic question.

As the first draft of Popping the Cherry progressed, I found myself more and more intrigued with Alice. Why was she so mean? What, or who, had made her that way? If she stayed on her current path, what would she become? Did she have any redeeming qualities? Could she be saved?

The title was actually the first thing that came to me…A Girl Called Malice…it had a certain ring to it and opened my mind to a plethora of possibilities. Alas, the story didn’t flow – not at all, since I struggled to connect with Alice – but the idea wouldn’t let me move on; Alice’s story had to be written, even if it broke me, which it very nearly did.

I hope that answers your question.

Aurelia :-)
Aurelia B. Rowl Read, read, then read some more and don't just stick within your own favourite genre either as you can learn a lot from branching out once in a while.

Also, write what you would love to read yourself; if you start worrying about whether anybody else will like what you're writing then there's a good chance you'll freeze up and struggle to write another word.
