Emery Lord unfortunately, i made it up. but i want it to be real too!!! WITNESS ME, ABC FAMILY. maybe i'll write a book about a witch's girl school instead ;)

I love Tessa and Ryan's banter so much. Is there any chance for you to write a book or even just a novella for Ryan and Tessa (The Start of Me and You)?
Emery Lord I'm not actively working on it, but I'd definitely consider writing senior year for the whole gang! There's a lot more complexity to Tessa's story and who she dates senior year :)

I read Open Road Summer a few weeks ago and I still find myself thinking back to it. I especially keep coming back to the short, yet poignant, scene between Dee and Jimmy at the end. I'm wondering (hoping) if you plan to ever right a sequel about those two? Just know that if you do yips have at least one very eager reader! :)
Emery Lord hi maria! so...i used to say "no" to this question. i think i left dee in a good place & i liked for readers to imagine for themselves where her life took her. ...buuuut, these days, i sometimes think how fun it would be to share the next piece of her story & write from her perspective. so...i'll say...no plans. but not no :) thanks for asking!

Why did you chose music as a theme in Open Road Summer?
Emery Lord i grew up surrounded by music. my grandmother was a professor of music- an organist & pianist; my mom plays cello & piano; i play piano, saxophone & am learning ukulele painfully slowly ;) so, no surprise that music is playing wherever i am- in my headphones as i write, my record player as i make breakfast, my piano while i wait for the kettle to boil. i'm the girl full-on dancing in my car & at every concert. so it was second nature- and a thrill- to write a book with characters who also need a good bass line to keep their heart beating.
