I am! Nichelle Clarke #7, DEADLY POLITICS, is currently in edits and due out this spring, then there will be a second Faith McClellan novel out in the fall, with Nichelle #8 slated for spring 2020. You can keep up with book news by signing up for the reader club emails at www.lyndeewalker.com if you haven't already, and if you haven't read the Nichelle novella FATAL FEATURES, thrillerfix.com is currently giving it away. Thanks for writing in—wishing you a 2019 of health, happiness, and great reading!

At least ten, and maybe more if the story will allow it. Thank you for asking, and thanks for reading! I'm so glad you enjoy Nichelle's stories.

Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for the sweet question: it is one I get frequently these days. I am THRILLED to say that yes, I am working on a new Nichelle novel—DEADLY POLITICS (working title) will be out in 2019 from Severn River Publishing. I am having a blast being back at the Telegraph, and I'm so thankful for readers like you who've hung in there and been patient with Nichelle and me. xoxoxo

I wish I knew! All they've told me so far is that they're working on the contracts, so the best answer I can offer is "hopefully very soon."
I'm on Facebook every day at facebook.com/lyndeewalkerbooks, so the announcement will likely go up there first as soon as I hear something, but I'll be sure to update goodreads, too!
I'm so glad you enjoy the books! Thank you for reading. :)

I have a few pair of nice designer shoes, but my day-to-day taste runs more to Tory Burch flats and sandals. Heels are only for special occasions around here. I have some beautiful ones for the nights when I don’t have to walk terribly far and can show them off. That’s all part of the reason I have such fun writing about Nichelle’s shoe rack.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying BURIED LEADS! I hope you enjoy Nichelle’s other adventures as much.

Small Town Spin grew from the setting. A dear friend of mine grew up on a bitsy island in the Chesapeake Bay, and it’s such a beautiful place. I wanted Nichelle to go there. But it would take a big story—and maybe a personal connection—to get a crime reporter from Richmond all the way out to Tidewater to cover something. So a friend asks her for a favor, which turns out to be helping to control spin on a huge story.
I had a blast poking around the island and the county researching this book, and I hope readers love Mathews as much as I do.

Hearing from readers. I’m blessed to get to spend my life doing what I love. There are many wonderful things about it, but getting letters and emails from my readers, or getting to meet folks in person, has been the best part. I love hearing what scenes or lines stuck with people, and why they like or identify with certain characters.

I walk. Changing scenery and getting myself moving helps me figure out sticky plot points.
I write. Maybe it’s my journalism background (editors don’t care that your muse isn’t there, they care that they have their fifteen inches of copy by deadline. They’re picky like that.), but on days when I’m not “feeling it,” if I sit down and write, I eventually get to a place where the story is flowing. I can always revise, unless I let “writer’s block” be an excuse to not write. You can’t polish words that aren’t there.
