The idea for what would turn out to be the core storyline of this book, came to me seemingly out of the blues one afternoon when I was still a teen. The first bit of inspiration was born out of the name of the male lead - Mark Louis de la Mer. At the time, I didn't even know how I would spell his name! It was one of those moments of inspiration that you never forget.
The rest of the storyline was born out of my love for: a good quest, strong female heroines, morally complex heroes, Eighteenth and Nineteenth century art, Fairy and Folk tales, mythology, suspense, and Epic Fantasy.
