D.R. Graham I grew up in Steveston British Columbia and first learned about the internment of Japanese Canadians from my Japanese Canadian friends and neighbours when I was a child. Then I studied and researched the impact of the internment more for a master's paper at university. It wasn't until I bought a home on Mayne Island and learned of the history of the Japanese Canadian community that lived there that the novel began to take shape. Ultimately I wrote it for my nephews who have Japanese Canadian heritage.
D.R. Graham I have just completed the edits on my first historical fiction. It has been a passion project of mine for several years and is set against the backdrop of historical events that have very significant meaning to me. I am excited to share it with the world this fall when it releases with HarperCollins!
D.R. Graham Write. Don't over think, don't second guess, don't be afraid; just write.
D.R. Graham The freedom that comes with creating worlds and characters, and then being surprised where that story leads.
D.R. Graham The Hate U Give is next up on my TBR pile.
D.R. Graham Hi Jacqueline. Thanks for the question. Right now Hit That And You're Dead is only available on iBooks, Kindle, and Kobo. B&N doesn't allow Canadian authors to upload to their site. Sorry about that.
