I start fresh the next day or just take a break, try to totally disassociate myself from the work and find inspiration in a different venue. Read, watch TV, flip through a magazine, etc. Staring at the page never works for me. I will read another author's bio, which I also find very motivating.

Telling a good story and knowing it will affect others in some way. Whether they laugh or cry....just knowing something you shared had that effect on another is amazing.

I find inspiration in big and small things. My family inspires me because you typically can expect to see a host of personalities right under your nose. Maybe a crazy aunt, or a spastic sister, or condescending dad, or dramatic mother....they're all right there, so use them! Weather also inspires me...fall windy days or rainy nights help me with settings and affect my mood. The environment can and should be a huge inspiration.

Write some, anything...everyday. If you're not writing you should be reading about writing. Find inspiration every where. Use the people around you to develop characters, and don't give up on your story.

I'm currently working on a children's book, inspired by my 8yr old son.

My sister's and I had a ton of dating stories, which we typically only shard with each other. Some funny, some sad....I always said one day we should put this in a book and share it with the world. So I did.
