I'm on a paranormal mystery reading streaks at the moment. There are so many great authors releasing books in this relatively new genre. Juliet's Blackwell has been writing these for a while but in the last two years, I've found so many fun reads.

Just do it! Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of your dream. I wrote my first manuscript sitting in airports because I had to travel so much throughout my career. That one is still buried under my bed and will likely stay there, but you can only learn to write by writing.

I'm not sure exactly - there is long-established tradition of witch lore in Newfoundland culture; that my background. My ancestors believed in everything from fairies to leprechauns, four-leaf clovers to banshees, and had all sorts of rituals to ward off evil spirits or bad luck. And, like the Irish, we love to spin a tale! Suffice it to say, folktales and storytelling are bred into my family genes.

Everything inspires me to write - the people I meet, the things I see and hear and read - I can't help it. I even dream my scenes before I write them down. I've wanted to be a writer since I was twelve years old; it just took me a while to circle back to really chase that dream.

I've just finished outline the sequel for Witch in the Wind. I always intended there to be two more books in that series, but set it aside when the opportunity to work with Roxy Borroughs and CJ Carmichael on the Frost Family Christmas Trilogy came along. Now I'm so excited about going back to visit The Otherland and pick up where I left off. Book 2 is called Mortal Magic and should be ready for release in early 2017.
