Hi Toni,
Thanks for reading SEVEN-X. Originally I was researching states with the death penalty and Texas was the state that seemed to fit the story best. I started googling through Texas looking for small towns that were remote enough to act as a buffer town for the asylum.
When I saw Dell City and it's location, water routing and community, it felt like the perfect setting for the story.

The idea for SEVEN-X was a gift from God. The entire story was instantly downloaded into my head. It was inspired. I read the scripture about the seven demons returning, prayed, closed my eyes and bang! I saw the whole thing like I was at a movie theater. Then I researched for two weeks, and sat down for ten weeks and wrote the novel.
I didn't do anything but write for those ten weeks and live in Eddie's world. When I came out of it, that's what you're reading.

Writing is challenging. It's hard work, skill, dedication, perseverance, rejection, acceptance, marketing and so much more. You put everything you have, every part of your being passionately into interpreting the dreams and visions you receive as an artist. And you have no control over the result. That's hard to accept, because your livelihood comes from success or you are doing other things to support your passion.
If you really want to write, then just do it. Write passionately from the core of your being and let it all out. Don't worry what others think, but find the wisdom in critique so you can figure out if there are ways to make something better.
Story is as unique as its author. It has limitless boundaries of expression, so discover what the best way to execute your idea is, then don't stop until it is finished.
Make the sacrifice. Take the time to do it. Don't give up. Don't let fear stop you. Cut back on the things that suck time and energy away from your writing and focus until you see the vision complete.

The best part of writing is to let go and immerse yourself fully into the experience of creation. It's a unique high you experience completely alone in another dimension in your mind. You see something fully alive before anyone else experiences it. You're the first one entrusted to encapsalate the vision and bring it to fruition. That is an honor.
