Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Susan Jaques So much has been written about Catherine the Great, but surprisingly there was no biography focusing on her passions for art and architecture. She devoted a great deal of money and time to founding the Hermitage Museum and turning St. Petersburg into a beautiful neoclassical city. I wanted to tell this fascinating story.
