The Mystery of the Unmatched Sock and What Is That Smell In the Fridge wouldn't make compelling stories. Plenty of motive, means, and opportunity but not enough suspects for a good mystery. Although the dog would be an interesting red herring.

(view spoiler)[Hey Mary! You've clued into Maizie's character arc through the series. :) Which book are you on? This is something she literally says in #3! (hide spoiler)]

Hey John! Thanks for asking. The first in the Finley Goodhart series is Pig'N a Poke, which is a free short story exclusive to my newsletter subscribers. I named The Cupid Caper #2 so they wouldn't get confused (if you go to my website larissareinhart.com or straight to the newsletter sign up at http://smarturl.it/larissanewsletter, you can get on my newsletter team & get Pig). I've got a few Cherry Tucker novellas out since the sixth book (The Vigilante Vignette & A View to a Chill), but have been working on other series so won't have a full novel out anytime soon. I might do another Cherry Tucker novella this year and maybe a full novel next year. Hard to squeeze time in between other deadlines! :) I hope that answers your question!

Hi Donna! Thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed The Vigilante Vignette! To answer your question, I have no way of knowing unless a reader contacts me directly and tells me. But I hope so!

My first thought is Narnia because that's the world I was hoping to get to as a child. I'd also love to travel to Jasper Fforde's fictional universe with Tuesday Next Book Detective. I love those books!

Hi Vicki! Thanks so much for asking. It's really bittersweet. We're sad to leave Japan because we really do enjoy living here, but also glad to go back to Georgia. Next year, my oldest daughter will start high school and the younger, middle school, so it's a good time to go back. Peachtree City is a great place to live and we have so many friends there. It was a surprise for us that this opportunity for my husband came up and so quickly, but luckily, we're flexible! Biscuit will probably be the saddest. He loves the country life here in Japan. No more rice fields to investigate. :)
The show aired as a rerun in February. I'm not sure when it'll be on again! It'll be funny for us to watch it on American tv. We had to see it online since no HGTV here!

Hey, Andrea! For my principal characters, Cherry Tucker & Maizie Albright, their names just came to me. Luke was named by one of my daughters (haven't done that since probably should). Todd was named Todd because there were a lot of Todds in my high school class. His character just seemed like a Todd. I've never named a character for anyone I knew, though.
EXCEPT: I do a drawing among my street team/fan club, The Mystery Minions (we have a Facebook group). For every book, I let them enter a drawing and I name a character after the lucky winner. That's been since book 2 in the Cherry Tucker Mysteries and now in book 2 of the Maizie Albright mysteries.
As for the other characters, I've used all sorts of things from the local obituaries (particularly for family names), random name generator, and using the website, "Behind the Name," when I wanted a symbolic name (I'll do a meaning search). Obituaries are great.
The name's got to feel right and be a right fit, you know? I've always loved the way certain names roll off the tongue. Maybe because I grew up with such a strong name. Very difficult to find Larissa Reinhart pencils and mugs growing up, though. ;)

I'll give you two couples for #romanceweek. For mysteries, I love Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence, she's sassy & smart and he understands that. From Daphne du Maurier's The King's General, Honor & Richard. They both struggle with pride and their affair is tragically unrequited. Both couples speak to different parts of my personality & I can read them again and again.

Hi John, My contract is pretty standard, but I'm going to answer you privately since I don't have a lot of room here to write. Thanks for asking! Larissa

The cravat and pipe.

Usually I've done something wrong, so I have to go back and read what I've written and figure out where the story went off the tracks.

I just finished writing the fifth Cherry Tucker mystery, The Body in the Landscape. I'm also writing a new mystery series set in Georgia with new characters.

I'm constantly inspired for new story and character ideas. My bigger problem is finding time to write all the stories I'd love to try.

The idea for the last Cherry Tucker mystery, Death in Perspective, came to me because I wanted to do a modern poison pen mystery. Because I used to teach and did a lot of drama in high school, a high school drama department seemed liked the perfect setting for a mystery about a anonymous texter who was besieging the school with blackmail worthy texts.
