Samantha Norman Hi Florence,
Thank you very much for your message
I'm afraid I don't know the definitive answer to your question but my guess is that they haven't been translated. May I suggest you contact her agent also mine : helen@thehelenhelleragency.com
As you say, "bon courage" with that.
Best wishes
Samantha
Samantha Norman Hi Ted. I thing that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said and I'm going to print out your comments and pin them to my wall. Thank you so much for taking the time to write to me.
In answer to your question about the next book, I've actually just finished it and sent it to my publisher. When it will be published I have no idea but I'll keep you posted.
Once again, many thanks for such generous praise

Samantha Norman Hi Mitzi, thank you for the ice things you said about Winter Siege - so glad you enjoyed it. I’ve just submitted a new manuscript to my publisher. It’s not a sequel but It does include Penda. As soon as I know when it will be published I’ll let you know.
Best wishes

Samantha Norman Hi Bobby, how nice to hear from you. The year thing is confusing for me too because although I have just completed and submitted the new Mistress manuscript, I have no idea when they will publish it. Thanks for the kind words about finishing Winter Siege and as soon as I know the publication date for the next one I will let you know.
All the best
Samantha
Samantha Norman Hi Kimberley,
Thank you for your question and I'm so pleased you like Mum's books. I am writing a sequel to the Mistress series and I think it will be published next year - so you haven't missed it. Mum died halfway through a novel which I finished for her called "Winter Siege" so you might want to look at that in the meantime.
Once again thank you for your interest and the lovely things you said.

Samantha Norman Hi Robert,
I'm in the middle of writing one at the moment. Should be published next year. It's a sequel to the last "Mistress of The Art of Death" series.
Samantha Norman Hi Libby,
Thank you for saying such nice things! The book I'm working on at the moment is a late sequel to The Mistress series. It's sort of a standalone actually because the central character is Allie -- Adelia and Rowley's daughter.
I write really slowly so I don't have much time to work on anything else and the deadline for this one is looming. After this though I'd like to try a modern thriller but I'll miss the 12th Century. Thank you so much for your question
Samantha Norman Thank you so much for your question.
Those two novels are hugely expensive aren't they? I think the cheapest Fitzempress Law I could find was £45 !! I'm trying to get them reprinted -- or certainly e printed (or whatever it's called) but not making much progress. In the meantime I'm writing another novel in the "Mistress" series and will let you know when that comes out. Thank you for being such a loyal fan of my Mum's and happy reading
Samantha Norman I don't really know why that is. It's odd isn't it? May be there was a clash of titles, another Winter Siege or something. I will ask my editor.
Thank you for your question
Samantha
Samantha Norman Hi Wanda,
Sorry to be so late getting back to you --I think your question must have got lost because I've only just seen it. Actually I'm writing a new novel, set a bit later than "Winter Siege" and although Penda isn't the main character she does appear in it. But you're right, I think it would be interesting to follow her story at some point.
Thank you
Samantha Norman I think they would be great for the screen and, funnily enough, "A Catch of Consequence" has been optioned. I think Emily Blunt would be fab as Makepeace. Don't you?
Samantha Norman Hi Lottie,
Yes I am. I'm writing the next one in my mother, Ariana Franklin's"Mistress of The Art of Death" series. It's set later than the books with Almeison, Adelia's daughter, as the central character.
Thank you for your question.
Best wishes
Samantha
Samantha Norman Being a writer enables you to go anywhere either physically or emotionally and sometimes both. It's absolute freedom if you can handle the solitude which I love.
Samantha Norman The one I'm writing at the moment is a special case because I'm continuing my mum, Ariana Franklin's unfinished series so the idea came from her. However I a lot of the ideas have come from research and a sense of atmosphere
Samantha Norman I'm not sure there is such a thing as inspiration. You just work on an idea until it develops. There's that Woody Allen quote (at least I think it was him) that getting something done is 10% inspiration 90% perspiration.
Samantha Norman I'm writing the next book in the "Mistress of the Art of Death" series by Ariana Franklin
Samantha Norman The best advice I was ever given as an aspiring writer was from an agent who, when I asked him how to go about writing a novel, said: "Just sit down and bloody write it." No shortcuts unfortunately
Samantha Norman The only way to deal with it is carry on; it might feel like chipping away at stone but you'll come up with something.
