I.S. Anderson Ideas will just come to me. This mostly goes back to dealing with writer's block. You just have to sit yourself down and start typing.
I.S. Anderson Know why you want to write. There is no right or wrong answer, but you have to be honest with yourself as to why you want to write. Everyone has a story inside them, not everyone has one other people want to hear. Practice, practice, practice. Like anything, the more you do it the better you get. Learn how to edit, in fact become a master at it, and find somebody you trust to be a second pair or eyes or even a third. Learn how to market yourself and your book. People will give out tips on what to write and how to organize your time for free, but when it comes to marketing books, you always end up having to pay something to learn techniques. That should tell you something.
I.S. Anderson When somebody reads your story and they become emotionally involved in something or somebody that just came out of your head. One of my friends started crying when she thought one of my characters was going to die. It is very flattering.
I.S. Anderson It is difficult. The best advice I can give is to just sit down where you write and just do it.
I.S. Anderson For Volume 4, I wanted to focus on a city with a very rich history containing supernatural elements and a mythology I had never focused on in my previous 3 novels. New Orleans is very strong with vampire lore and has a reputation of having many haunted locations. The story is not writing itself as I had hoped, but I think readers will find a great mix of fantasy grounded in actual local myth.
I.S. Anderson I am working on Volume 4 of Modern Disciples.
