My son had surgery and things all became delayed. :( I am so sorry. I finished and published A Winter Wonder in July, and I am working on The Blessing of Marriage now. :)

I don't believe in writer's block. If I don't want to write, I tell myself to suck it up, readers are counting on me. If I feel like the words aren't very good, I tell myself I have permission to suck at writing and just type some garbage on the page. The next day, when my inner critic witch isn't present, the words aren't so bad. :)

I love finding inspiration everywhere for my work. A song, a movie, an excursion with my kids, all of it can spark a story idea or impact a scene I'm writing. There's are not many professions out there where you can just incorporate life into what you do everyday.

Write for you. Study what makes a great story, but then write that great story because it's a book you'd want to keep forever and ever. If you do that, there's bound to be some other readers out there with similar tastes as yours who will love it. :)

I like to listen to music that I consider could be from a character's point-of-view for the scene I'm writing. For example, when I had to write a sense of loss for the Bennet sisters over their father in the Seasons of Serendipity, I usually listened to Adagio for Strings. My most recent book I had to write a "I will always love you" letter, so I listened to Gravity by Sara Bareilles.
