John Patrick Green My books are completed before the previews go up. But that only means the *contents* of the book are done, but they haven't been printed into physical copies yet. Physical books can take a long time to print, so while the interior of a book may've been written and drawn months ago, it doesn't exist as an actual book people can hold in their hands for quite some time.
John Patrick Green Yes, there will be a 9th book and even more after that!
John Patrick Green When I was first developing the main characters I wasn't sure if there'd be two or three alligators. Daryl was not one of them, I had settled on two alligators before anymore of the story had developed. As for Sven, he will be the main character in the next Agents of S.U.I.T. book, "Sew Much Trouble," which will be out in February 2026. And my publisher or sometimes bookstores are usually the ones that set up contests, but I'm not sure if they're planning anything currently.
John Patrick Green Hi, Kellan! Daryl (aka Crackerdile, Waffledile, etc.) will return. You will see him in future books, possibly in a form everyone has already seen, and eventually as a NEW form!
And while Mango and Brash were dressed as construction workers at the very end of the Class Action book, that was just because the next book was in the process of being made. They weren't on a mission, just following proper safety protocols!
John Patrick Green Panksy has been part of a bigger plan all along. You will get to see more of him in upcoming books. As for Bubbles, possibly! I have ideas for a lot of things and it's all about finding the best spot to work them into a story.
John Patrick Green Currently the only way to get it in the US is I think to find a copy online in the UK and have it shipped overseas. But I am hoping there will be a day it's available everywhere. The story was done for an event called World Book Day and is a short (50 pages) black-and-white adventure that kids were able to get either free with a coupon or for a low price, basically like one dollar. If we do publish a new version, I hope to do it in color. But there is no scheduled date for it just yet.
John Patrick Green As of this writing, the next InvestiGators book (book 9) will be out in September 2025. Then there are at least three more books that are scheduled to come out every September until 2028 (but there may even be more after that!) And don't forget, there is also Agents of S.U.I.T., and there will be books in that series every February for the next four years or so.
John Patrick Green There is a 9th book on the way, called InvestiGators: Case Files! This one will be a little different than the usual mystery adventure, but should be a lot of fun. There will also be a 10th, 11th, and 12th book!
John Patrick Green I do signings at store and schools when I'm on tour, which are the two weeks around each book release (usually at the end of February and the end of September.) I don't get to go all over the country each tour, but I try to make it to new areas each time, so check my social media at the beginning of those months for when my schedule gets posted. I also expect the to tour the UK again next June. If you'd like to order a signed and personalized book, you can get them from Books Are Magic in Brooklyn via their website.
John Patrick Green Cilantro's adventure will continue in the Agents of S.U.I.T. series. She's part of the story in the third book, "Wild Ghost Chase," which comes out February 2025. She may occasionally pop up in the main InvestiGators books as well.
John Patrick Green The 3rd Agents of SUIT comes out February 18th, 2025!
John Patrick Green Yes, the eighth book is called InvestiGators: Class Action, and will be out on September 24th, 2024.
John Patrick Green Making more InvestiGators and Agents of S.U.I.T. books!
John Patrick Green Hi, Josiah. Right now I am busy making more InvestiGators books, but hopefully sometime in the future I will be able to revisit the Kitten Construction Company series.
John Patrick Green Thanks, Oliver. Doctor Copter's original can basically be traced back to my love of Transformers as a kid. His origin is also a parody of the movie An American Werewolf in London.
The idea for Crackerdile originally began as a picture book, about a crocodile animal cracker that fell between some couch cushions and then went on an adventure, but I never made the story, so when I needed to come up with villain for Mango and Brash, I remembered the name, and figured that would make a fun character.
John Patrick Green The animated shorts are technically advertisements for the books that my publisher had produced. They are commercials, basically (though many edits of them online have cut out the parts where it says to read the books.) Publishers make advertisements for books all the time, but book publishers aren't movie studios. Since I am not a filmmaker, for a movie to be made there would have to be a studio and distributor that is interesting in making it. So if you know any movie studios, tell them you want an InvestiGators movie!
