I've been intrigued by the idea that one night could cause someone to radically change their life. What is it like to see your past, your present, and your future in light the consequences of your actions? In my retelling, I wanted to explore what it might look like AFTER the change. I hope you enjoy!

Yes! I'm currently editing it. I wanted to release it sooner, but it needed some major writing to take it from good, to really offering the reader what they needed from the story. Look for it coming out spring of this year.

I'm very happy to report that my life has been extremely mystery free and boring. However, I suppose one could say that the continuing mystery of God's unfolding destiny for my life is one that will always make a good plot point.

Well, many of my contemporary stories are set in Texas, as it's the state I know best. Also, I don't know how to write about cold and snow well. We just don't get snow in Texas (except for last year, but that was weird). I probably have made some people cock their heads over my descriptions. :)

Well, I had to think about this for a while. I probably would have picked a book by Lousia Alcott as she has sweet stories that fit my idea of Thanksgiving mood.

Names are either super easy in a story or really hard. For this story, I saw a photo and I just knew that she looked just like the girl form this story and I thought Annelise fit her well.

Most years, we go up to my Great Aunt's house for Thanksgiving. It wasn't until I was in my teens that most people didn't have 50-100 people for Thanksgiving dinner. Mom's side of the family has issues, but they value family.
We also keep a gratefulness jar all year long. On Thanksgiving, we empty it and read each slip of paper. It's amazing to see what God does throughout the year.

Hi Parker!
The biggest inspiration was my love for the show Sue Thomas FBEye. It is also about an FBI team. I've wanted for a while to do a series that spanned quite a few books that showed how people struggle with real-life issues and build each other up.
I pray the series is a blessing to you and others.

Aria,
Well, I'm working hard on it between my two other jobs. I'm hoping to have it out for Christmas of 2018, but I can't guarantee that. If not, It will be early 2019.

I get my ideas from all over the place. I visit a historical sight and I want to write a book about what it was like to be there, a friend is struggling with something and I want to write a book to help the process, I see a cool concept in a movie that wasn't used and I want to develop it further.
I have been overwhelmed by how God has used it. I pray that each book will draw one person close to Him. I've been privileged to hear stories from at least one reader for my books. I've heard everything from it made them want to read their Bible to it one story where Jesus used one of my stories to turn a girls life around.

Bethany,
There was supposed to be one. We had an author busily at work on it and then... her boyfriend proposed. Yeah, marriage changes priorities. It was already fairly late in the project so it was decided that we wouldn't try to replace the author.

For my upcoming release There Was Always Laughter in Our House:
#1. All those people asking "What was it like growing up with your family?"
#2. My adopted grandfather giving me the title.
#3. My family is my favorite topic.

I sit and watch people. Seriously, I am that person who sits in the corner booth and just watches the people. Creepy? Perhaps, but I get so much inspiration.

You know that annoying kid of the opposite gender that you hated in Sunday School? They want to go on a date with you.

I'm horrible at marketing. Money wise, I haven't been successful. However, my goal has never been to make money, but to change lives. I have been successful in that. For that kind of success, prayer is what is needed, not marketing.

I typically give the first copy ever to the person that it is dedicated to. If I get a second I keep it for me. I have never ordered a third, so I'm not sure what I would do with it.

Emma and Mr. Knightly. I love how close of friends they are and slowly they realize that they love each other. It is so sweet and perfect.

Writing is my job. I may do it from home and have a flexible schedule, but it still my job and I try to treat it as such. Most days, I spend the majority of my day (8-7) working on writing or related work.
