Jezza Deep Some of my best ideas come when sitting alone in silence; driving, in the shower, or laying in bed before sleep. Allowing your mind a quiet place to spread out and follow new ideas almost always generates inspiration for me. My best inspiration comes when I'm least expecting it. I don't sit down at my computer and try to brainstorm. My mind strings thoughts from everyday life that suddenly become some of my best ideas.
Jezza Deep First, read a LOT. This is the biggest thing you can do to develop skills.

Second, write a lot. This is the second biggest thing.

Thirdly, don't get caught up in perfection. Your first draft will suck. You will be a bad writer at first because you don't have the skills yet. That's why you're doing it, to develop the skills. Every first draft is perfect because all a first draft needs to do is to exist.

Don't jump ahead to worrying about publishing and marketing and should I go indie or trad or this or that? Without a first draft written, you have nothing to publish, market, or worry about anyway.

Just write.

Last, know that it will take a LONG time and a lot of HARD work and most writers don't make any money. If they're lucky they break even. So if you're in it for money look somewhere else or make sure you have a 9-5.
Jezza Deep Usually, when I get writer's block, it's because I wrote myself into a corner. I think about what I can do to write through it, but sometimes I have to backtrack and start from an earlier portion. Someone above me said to write a rough draft without much quality care first, and it helps, even if you don't stay too similar to the rough draft in later revisions.
Jezza Deep Watching reruns of my favorite past shows.
Jezza Deep Leaving my real-world madness to live in my fantasy bliss if only for a little while.
Jezza Deep Erotic Mob Romance
Jezza Deep Wheel of Time. KNOWING that you've lived past lives and that you're gonna be spun out on the Wheel again. There may not be a Reason or God guiding the way but some type of force that sets up situations and it's up to the players to determine the outcome. That life and beauty and the world will always go on. You can figure out your purpose by being a spellcaster and casting spells taps you into the very source of life. Speaking of which, I'd be the Blue or Yellow Ajah. In that order.
Jezza Deep I can't move, breathe, speak, or hear and it's so dark all the time. If I knew it would be this lonely, I would have been cremated instead.
