I like novels with depth. I've put Bridge of Faith on my Kindle because it sounds like one of those. I like your review of Life After too, so that one is also on my Kindle. I know you're busy, but could you consider checking out my novel, Zinovy's Journey? I think ZJ might have "stepped into the world of literary fiction" as well, and would like your opinion about that.

Catherine West Hi, Ginny! I will definitely put it on my TBR pile! I think you'll find my more recent novels, The Things We Knew, and The Memory Of You, quite 'deep'. :) But actually all my books tackle the deeper issues of life. It's kind of my thing. LOL.

How did you choose Nantucket as a setting for "The Things We Knew", since you live in Bermuda?

Catherine West Hi Rebecca! Good question! Well, at the time of writing the first draft for The Things We Knew, I was wanting to target US Publishers, and I wasn't sure a book set outside of the US would be the way to go. But I knew I wanted an island setting for this story, so as I began to research Nantucket, an island with some similarities to Bermuda but all the charm and history of a New England town, I knew I'd found the perfect solution!

My only book so far has been a small one called, "Guru Hacks to a Happy Healthy Home," but I have a historical fiction brewing inside. There are many great books on fiction writing, so I'd start there, regardless of genre. Donald Maas, James Scott Bell, Ann Lamott to name just a few. Study the craft but the best thing is to start writing! See what comes out and edit later. Good Luck!
