Well, I like to write suspenseful horror/paranormal mysteries so I suppose I would incorporate a little Mexican Folklore into my real life mystery. There is an old story about my fathers mother being the landlord for a group of converted train boxcars for migrant farm workers. One tenant was known as a witch and when she did not pay rent and was evicted she cursed my grandmother and all of her children. Shortly after my Grandmother died of cervical cancer and all 12 children were placed into foster care where their lives were very grim. Years later, my Uncle told me the story believing they were all hexed. I think I could write a good book out of that bit of mystery.

My favorite characters always seem to be the villains. If I had to chose, I suppose I would chose Ezra from A Penny's Worth. He's such an unlikable character, but at times, he let's his vulnerability show which allows the reader to see he's human. Flawed, insecure and afraid like the rest of us. In the end, he just wants to be loved and though he inflicted nothing but pain on his wife, he did it to protect himself, because deep down he always knew; he was never good enough for her.

I would love that!

Hi Joseph. From reading my reviews, it seems I have a knack for writing the most despicable characters. That being said, my favorite character I enjoyed writing was Ezra Silverstein, the tormented Jewish jeweler that couldn't find the self worth inside his own self, so he couldn't possibly love his own wife. Or maybe he did, but not in the logical way most people would. It's actually quite tragic because his love for her was really stronger than anything else, but without being able to express it correctly, it did nothing but cause his demise.

Hi Elaine. I did recently read nights Arose. I always try to find one review that relates most to how I felt and "like" that review. Your review seemed to agree most with my thoughts. I loved the story of Arose. There was a perfect blend of fantasy, romance and historical fiction. It did seem that the book took quite a bit of concentration, but I think that was just because of all of the magic, astral planes and sorcery that was going on. I do hear the author may be writing a sequel so it will be nice to see what the Voo Doo Priestess will be up to next!

I have not, but I would love to check it out. Added to my goodreads list!

Currently working on a young adult paranormal mystery. This story is told from the first person narrative of a young, teenage boy drawn to the mysterious new girl that arrives to school with a secret agenda involving seances, witchcraft and raising the dead. With the help of her history teacher, of course.

I woke up and reached for my phone on the nightstand. It wasn't there.

That's easy. I would travel to Thornfield Hall and meet the mysterious, handsome, easily irritable Mr. Rochester. And of course we would fall madly in love and live happily ever after in that big, beautiful mansion, playing piano, learning French, and painting lovely portraits for entertainment.

"Hell to Pay" by Jennifer Lee Thomson is up next! It seems like a pretty intense, traumatic book. I expect I'll be sobbing like a baby, but hope the ending is wrapped up with plenty of revenge.

Music! Every time a song plays, it's like a movie comes to life in my head. Over the past four years, I've decided to take a pen and put to life what used to only be in my mind. It's a beautiful thing, to take a variety of artists work and elaborate an entire story from various 2-3 minute tracks of music.

I can't wait to receive the copy! And yes, I will most definitely leave a review. Thanks so much!

The best thing about being a writer is meeting all of the great readers and authors out there. Before, I always felt alone in this aspect of my life, as no one around me shared my obsession over books, but now the doors to a whole new world have opened. Nothing makes me happier than to receive an email from a reader who wants to discuss my book... or any book for that matter.

Hi James. I am right on schedule! Of course Margaret Mitchell's supersized novel of Gone With the Wind is going to slow me down a bit, but I will be happy to count it as a small victory once I'm complete! I hope your challenge is off to a great start.

As with all of my writings. Music is what inspires my stories. When I started working on my current project, I was inspired by the concept album from Terrible Things retelling the story of an arsonist wreaking havoc around the Coastsville, PA area, however the story manifested into is own tale of destruction and is currently being inspired by a ton of female artists such as Zella Day and Lana Del Ray. I think these ladies relate much more to my female protagonists. I can't wait for you all to meet her!
