hows the 4th book coming now? i am a sophomore at BHS i went to RHS my freshman year an actually missed when you visited which was disappointing due to the fact before this i hadn't read a full book in a while and soon as i started ash fall in my class i finished all 3 books before my class got halfway done with 1st its an amazing series!!!!

Mike Mullin I've written the first half of the fourth ASHFALL novel three times now. I think the current attempt may work. But in any case, the first draft still isn't done. Sorry about the wait! The good news is that I do have a new book coming out next year, a YA thriller called SURFACE TENSION that will launch in May. Hope you enjoy it!

I'm on Sunrise right now and after that i'm gonna read Darla's Story i cant wait for Blades Of Spring if that is the official name and the question i wanted to ask, (what inspired you to write to these fantastically amazing books?)

Mike Mullin Hi Derek, thanks for your question, and I'm glad you enjoyed my books so much! BLADES OF SPRING is my official name for the fourth book, but ultimately my publisher controls the titles, so it may change sometime between now and the publication date.

I got the idea for the ASHFALL series from reading another book, Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything. I get almost all my ideas from reading other people's books.

Are you planning on writing any other books outside of the Ashfall series?

Mike Mullin Yes, my young adult thriller titled SURFACE TENSION will be out next year. It's about a teen who sees a group of terrorists causing a plane crash from the ground. He's the only one who knows how they're causing plane crashes, they notice him watching them, and they want him dead.

When can we expect Ashfall #4 to hit the shelves? I loved the first 3 books!

Mike Mullin By contract, I have to deliver the book on or before 12/31/17. I hope to get it done sooner, but I plan to take as much time as I need to write the best book I can. About four weeks ago I threw out 300 pages and started over. I'm much happier with the current draft.
