Catherine McGrew Jaime One of the best things is the excuse to do research! I love trying to figure out how things would have been, why did this or that happen, what were things really like when my character walked the streets of Venice, etc.

But one of my other favorite things is hearing from people who have enjoyed my books - the email from the gentleman who said he finally understood the Electoral College after reading my book, the note from the woman in Amsterdam who appreciated my brief history of the Pilgrims, and those types of things.
Catherine McGrew Jaime Write often and write lots. And write about things you are passionate about - its lots more fun that way.
Catherine McGrew Jaime I love history and I love to travel. Often my travels bring me face to face with a story just waiting to be told. My "Attack Trilogy" started that way - when on a visit to Cappadocia we visited the underground city there. My first short story, The Attack in Cappadocia, just begged to be written after that.
Catherine McGrew Jaime I've been working on my historical series on Leonardo da Vinci for many years now. I have been looking forward to writing the one that would include my version of why, how, and when Leonardo painted the Mona Lisa. That time finally came - and I am happy to have completed my newest novel - Leonardo: A Return to Painting.
