Michael B. Druxman I like to go to real places where historic events happened.

Now, if I could go back into the past, I'd choose Hollywood during the 1930s-1940s. That way, I could take part in the movie industry during its "Golden Era".
Michael B. Druxman None at this time. Actually, I'm planning to start writing a new novel.
Michael B. Druxman Probably Nick and Nora Charles. They're fun and, off the top of my head, they are the only fictional couple that comes to mind.
Michael B. Druxman She looked like "a good time girl who was way past her prime". Overweight and, I suspect, always drinking. She had a poolside apartment and guys were always visiting her.

I knew her reputation and stayed away, but she was rather fascinating to watch. I was only in that apartment complex for about 3 months. It was a bit too wild for me, especially after the police conducted a drug raid on one of the lower units.

Michael B. Druxman Usually when I run into "writer's block," I have taken a wrong turn earlier in the story. So, I just stop writing on that story, sometimes for days or weeks. Eventually, often when I'm driving or in the shower, the answer will come to me...and then the story begins to flow again.

That's what happened when I wrote my original screenplay for the movie that became DILLINGER & CAPONE (now in paperback and on Kindle). At one point, I couldn't write any longer...and it took me about 3 weeks to figure out why.

I had violated the character of John Dillinger. Dillinger was a bank robber, who would walk into a bank, guns drawn, and announce: "I'm John Dillinger, and this is a hold-up!".

In an early draft of my script, I had Dillinger pulling a burglary. I changed that, and everything was fine.
Michael B. Druxman My first book of short stories, "DRACULA MEETS JACK THE RIPPER & Other Revisionist Histories," was so well received that I am going to do another anthology; this time, 3-4 longer stories.
Michael B. Druxman My most recent book is MURDER IN BABYLON, a novel based on the William Desmond Taylor murder, Hollywood's most baffling unsolved mystery.

The case has always fascinated me and, since I did virtually all of my research back in the 1970s, I was able to interview people like legendary newspaperwoman Adela Rogers St. Johns, directors King Vidor and Allan Dwan and even Mary Miles Minter, a key figure in the case.

Why did it take so long for the book to be published? I got distracted with some paying writing jobs and, over the years, I'd totally forgotten I'd written the manuscript. But, better late than never.
