Frances Pauli My stories are definitely aimed at the furry community, though I hope they are broad enough to reach and appeal to a wider audience as well. I have always read and enjoyed anthropomorphic works, but I don't think these are mutually exclusive things. So my answer is really, both. I'm a member of the community, and a big fan of all things anthro.
Frances Pauli Never stop writing. Not when you finish a book, and not when you sell one, and not when you get a rejection. Keep going. Having more than one egg in your basket will not only give you options, it will keep you from becoming over attached to any of them. Second advice: learn to love criticism. Actually love it, at the very least for the opportunity it provides. Without the sting, it's too easy not to grow. Never settle for comfortable.
Frances Pauli For my process, writer's block almost always means I've made an error in the manuscript's trajectory. Usually (knock on wood) if I go back a little and ruminate, something will come to light that needs to be shifted before the book can move forward again. A character has done something that is not in their nature, a choice has been made that will cause issue later... Once i work it out and untangle the goof, so far, I've been able to move on quickly enough.
