Ceet I don't usually get writer's block, but there are times when I fell like I'm just typing aimlessly. In those instances I'd just stop writing and do something else. If i come back to it later I can usually pick it back up.
Ceet For me the best things about being a writer is the opportunity for creative expression, to be able to get ideas out of my mind and into reality.
Ceet Since I' am still an aspiring writer myself It feels weird giving advice, but there are a few things I've learned since embarking on this journey. (In no particular order.)

1. Stay Independent - In my opinion it's a waste of time trying to convince a publisher that your work is good when you can give it directly to the people and let them decide.

2. Write what you know - This one should be obvious.

3. Trust your voice - One of my biggest criticisms to date is my use of slang/ghetto/broken street grammar, but my main goal is always to write the story exactly how it comes to me, even if that means bad grammar.

There's a lot more things I could add but I have other things to do today... I'll come back to this later.
Ceet I'm currently working on Mentality 2, and will be releasing that this fall. I honestly never intended on writing sequels to any of my stories but some of my readers have made me reconsider.
Ceet I sit with my initial concept for the story for a while (sometimes years), and I try to build around the concept in my head. I normally don't get inspired to write until I can envision the story from start to finish.
Ceet My most recently completed book is the third installment of a three-part series (The Whore and The Virgin III), so I basically tried to figure out where the characters are at this point in their lives.
