Debra J. Edwards Different things inspire me depending on the book. For my Aggie Lichen trilogy, I was inspired by the children I was teaching at the time. When their teeth fell out (ages 6-7!) I wanted to write about tooth fairies with a difference hence my stories are about stroppy teenage tooth fairies.
Debra J. Edwards Seeing my chracters on paper and getting to know/love them. I also love the networking side as being a writer can be rather lonely at times.
Debra J. Edwards Keep going! It seems hard and that you are getting nowhere at times, but press on. If you have a good story, it will all come together.
Debra J. Edwards I wanted a story plot which would include my Great-Uncle Arthur. He was a performing magician in Victorian times and apparently a friend of Harry Houdini. This novel will be a MG story and hopefully be finished early next year.
Debra J. Edwards Eat chocolate and drink lots of coffee! Also, just go for a wander. Do something different than writing. Sitting at the desk does nothing - you need a distraction until the writing itch starts up again.
Debra J. Edwards I have two things on the go at the moment. I am editing a YA novel, The Iron City. This one is about a reluctant dragon slayer whose best friend is a 700 year old knight, George.
I'm also writing a MG novel about an orphan boy who runs away to join the circus. It's loosely based on my great-uncle Arthur who was a magician in the Virctoria era.
