Hello Jill,
First, I am honored to be asked to be a critique partner. I am currently a caregiver for a 98 year old who is basically blind with only a little bit of peripheral vision in both eyes. She has lived with me for 15 years and I've seen the changes in her from driving a car, working crosswords puzzles, and sewing, to sitting in her room wearing her Depends, and listening to the old reruns of western TV shows. Gunsmoke and Bonanza are her favorites because she remembers what they look like and can distinguish their voices.
Having said that, I am stressed to the gills and may need your psychology training to sort out my life. :)
I'm interested in what their situations were, and would love to find some humor in this aging process. I do have a question for you...is the word count 8,500 or 85,000 words?
Before I commit, may I take a look at the ms?
Thanks,
Rebecca

I was talking to my husband about a place I used to live when I moved to Florida, and we looked it up on Google maps. I found out my bucolic heaven was now a housing development. I started explaining the orange grove farm to him. I became inspired when I told him of a scary thing that happened to me on "The Farm" and it truly had the name Huckleberry Farm. I started brainstorming scenes with him and I just had to write them down. It became one of the manuscripts I'll be finishing in 2017 - Detectives Under Covers and takes place on "The Farm."

I have a wonderful Zen type of relaxation music I listen to. I put on headphones and write away. The music pulls on my creativity and very soon I'm ready to get back into the story and continue to write scenes. I feel once you have connected to what works for you, keep repeating the process.

I can let go and let it flow. Inspiration drives me and I have to write it down. Sorry I did not response sooner. I'm new to goodreads and finding my way around.
