Hey Charles,
You're right, I really should update the blog more often. I have just finished the latest draft of a new novel, and it's off to my agent. Hopefully I'll have some good news about that soon. It's an entirely new work, with new characters. I've kept other things on hold while I've been finishing that. I also spent most of the summer and fall working on a TV pitch, which also took up a lot of time.
But now that those are done(ish), I'm looking forward to doing new things. I've got a couple comic book pitches, an idea for a new novel, and some non-fiction I want to write. I'd also like to do another Cade novella this year, if my schedule allows.
I appreciate your patience with me. If you're wondering what I'm doing, I spend way too much time on Twitter (@chrisfarnsworth). Or you can sign up for my newsletter, which is infrequent, but should keep you in the loop. (https://tinyletter.com/chrisfarnsworth)
Thanks so much for checking in. Take care.

Right now I would have to say FLASHMOB. It's usually the most recent one because I learn something with every novel. But my favorite book is always the one that comes next, when I try to get it right one more time.

I did, and I still would love to do a werewolf-centric book with Cade. I always loved werewolves more than vampires as a kid and would really like to explore the mythology in depth. Right now I'm branching out and doing a few different things, but I will get back to him probably before the end of the year. Hope you enjoy KILLFILE. Thanks so much.

Hi Sherry. Actually, yes, it's already out. It's called FLASHMOB, and you can order it from Amazon or your friendly neighborhood bookstore.

Really glad you enjoyed KILLFILE. Hope you like FLASHMOB just as much. Thanks.

Hope you got a copy of DEEP STATE and enjoyed it, Alexis. If not, message me directly and I'll hook you up.

Thank you so much. Really hope you enjoy FLASHMOB, too.

Thank you so much, Carl. I really appreciate it.

I wrote DEEP STATE after FLASHMOB. It was nice to get back to Cade. I found it was like putting on a familiar and comfortable jacket. No adjustments necessary. Just like old times.
But I think I know what you mean about the energy and pacing. I try for a different voice with Cade and Zach, and their adventures are very different than those of John Smith. The Smith books are also told in first person, which limits his perspective. I do feel I can cut loose a little more with Cade, because there are different rules and expectations. When you start with a vampire, you can ask for a greater suspension of disbelief from the reader.

Zach will always come back with Cade. They are a package deal, no matter who (or what) tries to separate them. And I really appreciate the kind words. Thank you.

That is a great idea. It would also give me a chance to get back to one of my favorite characters, Griff. I've always wanted to do more with him. There's also the untold story, hinted at in The President's Vampire, where the Shadow Company killed one of Cade's handlers and immediately learned to regret it. Thanks so much. Just one more project for the list...

Sorry it's taken so long to answer this, Emily. I'd like to do a Cade novella since it will be a while before I can write an entire novel about him again. Some people have suggested a team-up with John Smith, which definitely interests me. Depending on my schedule, I'd like to get to it before the end of next year.

Thank you so much. Yes, I definitely plan to continue the John Smith series. I just finished the revisions on the sequel to KILLFILE, currently titled FLASHMOB. It's in the hands of my editor again, and should be out in 2017.

Yes, John Smith will definitely be coming back. The next book is currently titled FLASHMOB, and should be out in 2017. I just handed back the revised manuscript to my editor.
I'd love to keep this going as a series. It's my plan to keep writing him as long as people keep reading him.
Thank you so much. Really glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, Killfile will be an audiobook as well. Will announce more details as soon as I get them.

Hey Bruce,
Yes, KILLFILE is the novel formerly known as READER. The new title speaks with a little more authority, I think.
Thank you so much for the kind words and the great review. I'm really glad you enjoyed the book, and I appreciate the recommendation. Word of mouth is the best possible endorsement.
Take care.

Cade will return, but not for a while. After THE ETERNAL WORLD, my next book will be READER, also from William Morrow, out early next year. It's about an ex-soldier who reads minds, and works as a troubleshooter for billionaires. I intend to get back to Cade at some point; I am not done telling his story.
