Hank Quense The time I made a secret trip to a parallel universe to visit Zaftan 31B in order to observe the despicable zaftans on their home planet. Plenty scary!
Hank Quense I would go to Gundarland. It's a fantasy world I created for my characters to romp around in. I'd try to find some of the characters in my novels and short stories, but them a beer and see how they're getting along without me telling them what to do. I'm sure they're doing just fine. I suspect a few of them will ask me for a job in new story
Hank Quense I'm afraid I can't. I don't like horror so I don't write it or read it.
Hank Quense I am indeed about to publish a new book, Anne. It’s non-fiction this time and it’s called How to Self-publish and Market a Book. It will be available on September 15, but it can be pre-ordered now at a reduced price. It’s available on Amazon, B&N and all the other popular book seller websites.

I’ve self-published a number of books and, for some time now, I’ve pondered how to integrate the publishing and the marketing into a single project. I think it’s a mistake to first publish the book and then start the marketing. That is how almost all the available books treat the two topics. There are books on publishing and there are books on marketing. This implies the two process are separate and distinct but they really aren’t separate. Publishing and marketing have to be done in parallel. That’s where my new book is different: it treats the two process as a single integrated project.

Besides the book, I’ve created a support page that has additional information and guides on the topics of publishing and marketing. You can find the support page at: https://padlet.com/hanque/b0boum9fw405
Hank Quense I don't have a list of books to read. I go into a library or book store and browse until I find something interesting.
Hank Quense and a great review it is. It's greatly appreciated
Hank Quense Currently, I'm working not the final edits (typo hunting, in other words) for Moxie's Problem. I've started to write the first draft of the sequel, Moxie's Decision. In the non-fiction area, I'm waiting for a few writers to finish vetting a new book called Planning a Novel. It will be part of my Fiction Writing Guides. I'm also taking my four ebooks in the Self-publishing Guides and packaging them into a single book titled the Complete Self-publishing Guides.
Hank Quense The most important advice I can give to aspiring fiction writers is this. Know the ending before before you start to write the first draft. You should also know what path will take you from the story's beginning to that ending.
Hank Quense I've never experienced writer's block. Possibly this is because I always have at least three major writing projects underway. Usually, the three break down this way. One is in the final editing/revision stage. In the second I'm writing a first draft and the third I'm collecting ideas prior to starting the story design.
If I'm working on one of the three and my mind is a blank, I put that project away and move to one of the other two. After I while, I can return to the first one and make progress on it.
Hank Quense I've had the main character (Princess Moxie) bugging me for years. I wrote a short story about her once, but it never sold. One day I got the idea to put her into a novel (anything to shut her up). When I plotted out the story, it turned out I need two whole novels to get the complete story told. Needless to say, Moxie was very happy about the second novel.
