I don't have anything specific on my summer reading list. I tend to get the new releases from the publishers, both independent and traditional lesfic, when they come out each month. I just finished Gerri Hill's "Sawmill Springs," and I'm currently reading Donna K. Ford's "Unbroken." :-)

I'm assuming we're talking about my own books. I'd have to say Eleanor and Daphne from "Survived by Her Longtime Companion"... especially Eleanor. I've never had a character speak to me so clearly as she did. It was like I was writing someone's life story as I sit and listened to them tell me. Maybe it's because that's how that book was written. Eleanor told Bailey and Chelsea about the love she shared with Daphne, the movie star. Eleanor and Daphne overcame a lot together and their love was stronger for it.

This is a good question because I've had times where it's been difficult to be inspired to write. Sometimes life events can make it difficult to focus. What I've found when these times crop up is to write something each day... it can be ONE sentence. And if that's all I can do for the day, give myself praise for that one sentence. Then the next day, try again. Eventually, the one sentence becomes a paragraph... becomes a page... becomes a chapter... And before I know it, I have a completed first draft.

Doing what I love doing and interacting with the readers, either by email or in person at conferences.

My inspiration usually comes from a story idea that galvanizes me into writing about the characters, who they are, what they do in their lives, how the two main characters meet and fall in love. Sometimes inspiration can be lacking... which is when I say a prayer that it gets going soon!

To keep working on your writing in whatever way you can and to write a little something each day. That last one is one I still have to work on! Also, once you have something you feel is done, to show it to someone who's accomplished in editing... not just your friends. You need an objective eye to tell you what needs to be done to improve your work.

I'm working on an edit and rewrite of "More Than a Song," a romance about a bookstore owner, a hot singer in the Melissa Etheridge mode, and a kind and gentle vet. It's based in the fictional town of Francis, Georgia, more or less based on Decatur, Georgia.

My most recent release, "From Third to Home," is the third in the Playing for First series. I knew with the way I left "Two for the Show" that I wanted the Reds to have a chance at the very least at making the playoffs. Also, I knew I wanted the readers to see what came of the "We want to have a baby" Amy-Stacy storyline. :-) And I had been thinking of a new character. Hence, Kat Benson, second baseman for the Kansas City Bandits, was born. I hope you enjoy it!
