Hi Wendy! The first book in the Powertools world is Kate's Crew, which is free everywhere. There are more than 25 books set in this world now with several series under the Powertools umbrella. They are (in order) Powertools: Original Crew, Powertools: Hot Rods, Powertools: Hot Rides, Powertools: Original Crew Returns, Powertools: The Shields. Hi Jamie! I'm calling that an Easter Egg :) The Carter Clan got a name change along the way! In that scene, they're talking about the Hot Rods gang, including Joe's cousin Eli and his uncle, Tom. Their last name is London, not Carter, in the Powertools: Hot Rods series. I switched it from what I had in my series notes because it seemed too close to the first name of one of my Powertools: Hot Rods characters (Carver) and I'd forgotten that I already mentioned the last name explicitly in the original Powertools series. You can catch up with all the Powertools and Powertools: Hot Rods characters in the next group of books in this universe starting with Wild Ride in the Powertools: Hot Rides series that I'm putting out this year. That's a tough one. I guess they're based on a mash up of people I know in some ways but also they are borne out of whatever the story needs. Most of the time I start just with two characters who have some reason they can't be together or some situation that I think is interesting and I put some "people" in it to see what happens. Sometimes I get inspiration from pictures. For Hot Rods, I started with a collection of photographs I'd seen on Sophia Renee's site. I made up a background for each person and went from there. Hi Kelli! The answer to who the father of Joe and Morgan's baby is, is given in the Hot Rods series. Those books are a direct spin off of the Powertools series and the crew appears in every single book :) So check that out Hot Rods if you'd like to visit with the crew and see how things are going. Plus you get to learn more about Eli and Alanso from Hammer it Home (Powertools #6).
There are eight books planned in the Hot Rods series and after that... we'll have to see :) I figure I probably won't be able to say goodbye to the whole world since I've spent so much time there.
